Community Development and Poverty alleviation

Community development and poverty alleviation projects which includes the promotion and provision of the following: 1.1 Self-help, empowerment, skills development and training in respect of such projects

1.2 Training and assistance to emerging micro enterprises

1.3 Education to residents which may include the provision of education by:
– a school
– an institution of higher education
– an adult basic education and trainng institution
– a public further education and training institution
– any other education activities for the benefit of the Communities as approved by the Trustees

Primary Healthcare Services

Supporting primary healthcare services, including: 2.1 HIV prevention and education programmes 2.2 Counselling of persons afflicted by HIV/AIDS 2.3 Primary healthcare education and family planning services.

  • 2.4 Infrastructure for primary healthcare clinics;

Welfare and humanitarian

The care or the provision of support programs to the following categories of people:

3.1 Abandoned, abused, neglected, orphaned, or homeless children

3.2 Poor persons where more than 90% of them are over 60 years old

3.3 Physically or mentally abused and traumatized persons 3.4 Persons addicted to a dependence-forming substance 3.5 Presentation and education programs regarding addiction to dependence-forming substances

The promotion of protection of family stability

  1. Community development for poor and needy persons and anti-poverty initiatives, including the promotion and provision of the following:

4.1 Community-based projects relating to self-help, empowerment, capacity building, skills development or anti-poverty

4.2 Training, support or assistance to community-based projects

4.3 Training or assistance to micro-enterprises to improve capacity to start and manage businesses

4.4 Legal services for poor and needy persons

4.5 Facilities for the protection and care of children under school-going age of poor and needy parents

Land and housing

The development, construction, servicing, upgrading, conversion, and buying of the following for the benefit of poor people:

5.1 Housing units

5.2 Stands

5.3 Residence for retired persons, where more than 90% of them are over 60 years old and regular meals and nursing services are provided by the organization carrying on such activity

5.4 Residence for disabled persons where regular meals and nursing services are provided by the organization carrying on such activity

5.5 Building and equipping of community centers, clinics, sports facilities or creches, or other facilities of a similar nature for the benefit of the poor and needy.

Commercial Activities

Engaging in commercial activities which will enable the Trust to become financially sustainable.

Others

The Trust Deed provides that notwithstanding the above, the Trustees may determine and approve any other Trust Benefit Activity provided that such activity promotes the objectives of the Trust
